Examples of Patient Portals

Since one has to be a registered patient or member of an organization offering its clients access to their health information via a patient portal, it is not possible to provide direct experience using one. However, there are several providers that have websites which offer tours of their portals. Also,  some organizations which develop and offer patient port software and support to hospitals, clinics, and healthcare providers in private practices have websites explaining and demonstrating their patient portals.

Kaiser Permanente is healthcare insurer/provider with an exemplary patient portal.

myHealtheVet is the Department of Veterans Affairs’ patient portal for veterans using its healthcare system.

Cerner Patient Portal is one of many patient portal products marketed to hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers.
