ICEmaker on Windows


You are now ready to practice adding and encrypting content to you ICE USB and password-protecting it.

1. Check out the three options, below, then select which option you will use:

2. Copy/Paste the content of the OPTION folder to the USB. E.g.,

Option 2a

7. Run the encryption software that’s now on the ICE USB. E.g.,

ICE USB | 7z | PeaZip [Windows] | peazip.exe


8. Continue on with your option (click one):


PeaZip (7z)

SecureAccess (only SanDisk USB)


For SecurStick:


a. Click the appropriate SecurStick app on the ICE USB; i.e., either SecurStick.exe or SecurStick-x64.exe. E.g.,

        ICE USB | SecurStick | SecurStick.exe


b. Create SecurStick’s  Safe Zone, entering the password you will use,then click the Create button.


c. Copy/Paste the information to add/encrypt onto the X drive window. E.g., the content of ICE 4 Betty Boop to X(\\;


d. Logoff.

For practice:

1. Run SecurStick again and login.

2. Access and view the encrypted files using the browser at

3. Copy/Paste a file to the Desktop, thereby extracting it.

4. Drag/Drop a file to the Trash, thereby deleting it from the ICE USB.

To remove all the encrypted data from the ICE USB,

1. Drag/drop the entire contents of the X drive window to the Trash, then

2. Drag any extracted information to the Trash and empty it;

3. In the SecurStick Safe Zone window,  click Clear WebDAV cache before you logoff.

e. After logging off, close all SecurStick system and browser windows.

For PeaZip:

peazipShortcuta. Click peazip.exe, or its shortcut. E.g.,

        ICE USB | 7z | PeaZip [Windows] | peazip.exe

b. Click File | Create archive;

c. Click Enter password;

d. Enter the password, check all the boxes, then click OK. E.g.,

[3] Set Outpute. Enter for Output the path to the ICE – In Case of Emergency 4 [yourname].7z on the ICE USB.  E.g.,

F:\ICE – In Case of Emergency 4 Betty Boop.7z

f. Click the OK  button.

For practice:

1. Run peazip.exe again and login.

2. Click File | Open archive  and select the archive to open. E.g.,

F:\ICE – In Case of Emergency 4 Betty Boop.7z

3. Click Extract, set Output to the Desktop, and click OK.

4. Drag/Drop a file to the Trash, thereby deleting it from the ICE USB.

To remove all the encrypted data from the ICE USB,

1. Drag/drop the entire contents of the My Vault window to the Trash, then

2. Drag any extracted information to the Trash and empty it;

For SecureAccess:

SecureAccessIconWarning: Only one USB encrypted with SecureAccess may be plugged into the computer at a time. If more than one is, the SecureAccess manager will accept only one login and access files on one USB, regardless from which USB the software is run.

a. Click SanDiskSecureAccessV2_win.exe on the ICE USB. E.g.,

ICE USB | SanDiskSecureAccess |


Note: The first time you run this app you will need to set it up with a password and password hint. E.g.,

BBdob:07/04/41 and BBdob:mm/dd/yy


b. If the page, showing 4 ways to protect your files, click Next.


Recommendation: For the time being, keep this page as a reminder of the things you can do. Check it off, later.

c. Add to the ICE USB My Vault the the information you want added/encrypted to your ICE USB from your computer. E.g.,



d. Click Logoff to encrypt the information in the SecureAccess Vault.

For practice:

1. Run SanDiskSecureAccessV2_win.exe again and login.

2. View the contents of a file in by clicking its name in the My Vault window.

2. Extract a file by dragging/dropping it to your desktop.

3. Delete a file from the the ICE USB.

e. Delete the entire contents from the My Vault window, effectively emptying the ICE USB’s encrypted, passworded content.

f. Click My Vault to exit the app, ending the practice session.


8. Make sureall the content extracted from your ICE USB are deleted. E.g., drag/drop all to the Trash and then empty it.

9. Return to Using ICEmaker  to prepare the ICE USB with real ICE information.
